Lesonit

An historic Company that grows and renovates itself

The roots of today’s Lesonit date back to 1938, when a joint-stock Company, “Fallersa”, was founded in Trieste and started its business in Ilirska Bistrica after the Second World War. Later converted to the production of dry fiberboard panels, in 2000 the Company was acquired by the Fantoni Group, which, at that time, decided to start a massive modernization process of its plants that ended in 2007 and consisted in a 65 million overall investment.

Thanks to Fantoni, who shared its know-how and technical knowledge with the members of the Slovenian team, Lesonit is today a technologically advanced Company specialized in the production of MDF panels with its own wood finishing manufacturing line and is one of the first European companies in its field.

Benefiting from a strategic geographical location, Lesonit represents an important production facility within a relevant area from both an economic and a commercial point of view.

Seen the great technical innovations introduced, its architectural structures and productive plants rank the Company between the most forefront Companies in the European scene.

To follow its need of renovation, throughout the years, has been the vision of arch. Piero Valle from Studio Valle Architetti Associati and of his father Gino, who guided the architectural development of Fantoni’s industrial site in Osoppo before him. This is why a clear similarity can be found between the shells of Lesonit and the Friulian facility.
